Dublin4you Newsletter - Issue #10

OUTUBRO 2020

Welcome back after a long break

Welcome to Issue #10 of the Dublin4you Newsletter. This release comes after a long break. The last issue was released back in June. At the time, summer was in full swing and our hopes were up that the Covid situation is coming steadily under control.

Both the weather, as well as the number of Covid cases look much more bleak now.

Daily cases are now back to levels seen back in April and trending upwards. Dublin and Donegal are at Level 3 of the National Framework for living with Covid-19. The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) has recommended to move the whole country to Level 5 -- effectively to reimpose a countrywide lockdown but the government is more likely to extend Level 3 restrictions across the country.

On a positive note, the number of recorded Covid-related deaths so far has not been correlated with the growth of new cases and remains flat.

Meanwhile, the protests against Covid-19 restrictions are gaining momentum. This weekend, hundreds of supporters of the Yellow Vest Ireland organisation marched from Custom House Quay to Grafton Street where they staged a sit-down protest again mandatory face coverings and lockdowns.

Introducing Dublin4you Business Directory

One of the reasons I wasn't overly active on the Newsletter front was that I was developing the Dublin4you Business Directory. As is the case with most new features I have underestimated the complexity of the task and time it will take to release the first iteration of the functionality. Nevertheless, you can now check out the Dublin4you Business Directory at:

https://dublin4you.ie/business/

If you wish to register you business, you can do so via:

https://dublin4you.ie/accounts/signup/business/

Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will influence future development direction. The goal of the Business Directory is to create a platform for the promotion of local Dublin businesses and your opinion matters a lot.
